 You might be surprised to learn that dark chocolate can be a healthy choice but there are good reasons why we like to think Gemini chocolate is healthier than the average bar (as long as you enjoy it in moderation, of course).

You might be surprised to learn that dark chocolate can be a healthy choice but there are good reasons why we like to think Gemini chocolate is healthier than the average bar (as long as you enjoy it in moderation, of course).

1. We only use cacao beans, which are high in fibre, minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. There is evidence to suggest that it can help to lower blood pressure, improve brain function and protect against heart disease.

2. We don’t use refined sugar, which has a high glycemic index (GI), which leads to unhealthy spikes in blood sugar, and a high fructose content, which is linked with lots of health problems including obesity and diabetes.

3. We do use Palmyra tree blossom to sweeten our chocolate. This natural alternative has a low GI, low fructose content and lots of nutrients including vitamin B12.

4. We don’t use dairy, gluten, soya, emulsifiers or anything unnatural.

5. We do use organic whole foods such as coconuts, hazelnuts, quinoa and mulberries.

6. We don’t use processed fats.

7. We do use coconuts, which can help to raise healthy cholesterol and lower ‘bad’ cholesterol, which may lower your risk of heart disease.
